Today I'm participating in a blog hop celebrating all things butterfly! The lovely Eva has assembled a butterfly bog hop and the challenge is to create something with butterflies. It can be a card, a layout or any type of a project, as long as it has butterflies on it. If you want to play along, just link your creation up at Eva's blog: http://evafromca.blogspot.com/ Even if you're not up to making a butterfly creation - you can still go visit Eva's blog and get the full list of people playing along and she has PRIZES!!!! Yes, prize available to anyone who visits her blog.
I had just purchased these fabulous chipboard butterflies and thought they would be perfect for this project. The sentiment is a digital image from Squigglefly.
I have some previously posted projects from my blog collection that used butterflies - and wanted to share them with you again. Some are digital, some are paper crafts, some are home decor - mixed media, jewelry. This was my blog banner almost two years ago (various kits from Scrap Girls)

This project was inspired by a project on the Club Scrap showcase, and it features the Unity Stamp Co. stamp set "Bevy of Butterflies" on Tim Holtz grunge paper (like grunge board, only lighter and flexible!) and distress inks. I punched a few smaller butterflies to match, then doodled them with my pigment ink pen. Its in a shadow box style frame from IKEA (this is RIBBA in 5.5 in x 5.5 in) and features a metal tag {wander} also from Tim Holtz, and I removed the glass from the frame. I sponged the inks on the grunge paper (inks in Dusty Concord, Broken China, Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed, Orange Marmalaid and Worn Lipstick) in a ROY G BIV pattern, then stamped over it and cut out. I found my Tim Holtz/Tonic scissors works great for cutting the grunge paper!

This is a little wall hanging, its 3.5 x 5.0 in. in size. I made two - one is for the Houston museum. I thought that deep purple background looked like the night sky, with a rainbow of butterflies fluttering by. The colors are Mambo Melon and Rich Razzleberry - new from Stampin' Up! The paper is from K & CO - Que Sera collection (I think this is on clearance at Mikes, you should grab it while you can!). The stamp is from Unity's Kit of the Month (KOTM) for June 2009.

And one more project a fiber necklace with glass pendant - these butterflies are electric blue! Don't you love that red fiber - and I worked some turqoiuse blue fibers in there to match the pendant.
