Rustic Star

For this project I used the PTI Kraft CS (this is thick and lush!) and stamped all over the CS, in several different Perfect Match/ Palette inks (including the beautiful Pure Poppy, Fresh Snow and Kraft). I then used my sizzix die for the five pointed star and die cut/assembled into the ornament or decor item pictured below.  The stamp set is Snowflake Serenade and I just stamped randomly - one sheet wonder style and die cut the pieces. 

in the holiday spirit with Etsy Inspired

 

I was inspired to try out a Christmas card with a paper flower this week after headng over to Paper Seeds for some inspiration this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge and seeing those incredible paper mosaic, decoupage and paper flower projects. 

The details:  The background is made with Tattered Angels mist in Hollyberry and "punchanella" which is a new tool for me!   I read and saw these made on Bonnie's website - its what's leftover when they make sequins!    I used Adirondack color wash in "Lettuce" for the green on the bottom and spritzed the whole thing with my Smooch spritz in gold. 

Winter frolic tags!

Its time for the Papertrey Ink blog hop - the November challenge is tags! 

I made these tags with paint chips in iced colors, the tags were cut with my Cricut (Winter Frolic cartridge) on Papertrey Ink premium white cardstock.  The stamps used are from Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers. I embossed the tag and added some die cuts from leftover scraps, silver cord completes these:

Tag! You're it!

This week - I'll have several different tags for your holiday inspiration.  If you missed Monday's post, I had a set of six tags made from a piece of cardstock scrap - so quick and inexpensive!<---click to go check it out.

Today's tags are made with clear acrylic sheets.  This is one way to recycle those sheets that come with your stamps from Papertrey Ink.

Once Again, I used Snowflake Serenade and white ink.  These require a bit of patience and dry time but they're quite stunning!  You can use a sharpie to write in the to and from names for the gift recipient.  I reinforced the hole with a jumbo eyelet and used some gossamer ribbon.

Scraps

I have a box full of them and while I try to use them while card crafting, they seem to multiply overnight.

These are holiday gift tags, I made six of them from a piece of Kraft Cardstock that was roughly 5.5 x 5 in.   I stamped them with snowflakes from the Snowflake Serenade Stamp set (this was one of my first PTI purchases and I come back to it year after year!).  I stamped them in Raspberry Fizz and Fresh Snow (PTI), and Kiwi Kiss (SU) ink. 

 
They are die cut with Fillable Frames #9 die, I used button twine and buttons from PTI in matching colors.    I stamped the "To" and "From" the Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers stamp set.

 
The project was inspired by this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge featuring the Queen of Tarts Cake shop featuring amazingly detailed cookies.

Working on some fun, quick and easy holiday cards - I decided to try my hand at a card featuring a die cut (instead of a stamped image) as the focal point.

This uses the ornament shape from the Winter Frolic cartridge.  Its cut onto Figgy Pudding paper from Basic Grey (a retired christmas collection) and a corresponding scrap of lighter whitewashed paper for the hook and star shape (its there under the rhinestone).

 

Looking for some easy crafty gift ideas?

This week I think I will show off a few easy gifts, most of these are stamping related and very easy for even beginners, and use just a few supplies.

For today, I wanted to share a set of set of coasters.  These are made from pre-quilted fabric (look for at the fabric store) this one has a design on the front and back, so they are reversible.   For these coasters, they are die cut with the Sizzix Bigz Scalloped Square Die (sold through Stampin' Up! but I think also available anywhere Sizzix is sold).  Aren't the colors just really great?  Its chocolate, aqua, turqoise, olive and little palomino/cream.

 

I stamped one of my favorite sentiments on twill ribbon from Stampin' Up!.  The sentiment is from Handwritten Notes from Papertrey Ink and I stamped it in Dark Chocolate ink (also from PTI, or use a similar color from Palette Inks).  The twill is then ironed on using the Stampin Up' Big Shot Fabric Adhesive.   You can use other types of iron on fusible stuff - like Steam a Seam but having used both of them, the SU Fabric Adhesive is a much better product (its thicker, has a better hold to it, etc).   You might be able to use a liquid glue, like Aleen's Fabric Tac on these also ....... if you want a "no -sew" option. 

 
 I believe that these are washable too.  So if you spill something on them, no worries!
