one more stamped pin

I had one more stamped pin, this one in blue!  I'm pleased to report that I placed second in the pin contest for StampFest Orlando :-)

I used the colorwash faux bleach technique <---- tutorial available by clicking,and then stamped the sentiment "Live  Dance Love" stamp from Inky Antics on top. I punched a few holes in the bottom and added some swarovski crystal beading with a few buttons - I went for variety.    And I added a charm left over from a bracelet project (the bird).  Its stamped on white paper, and adhered onto black paper. 

At Stampfest, I also got to see SCS-er  "Bad Sherry" (Sherry Cheever) in person - she was doing make and takes at one of the booths.  Sherry did the great tutorial on the faux bleach.

This card is created with the "faux bleach" technique.  I embossed the image (I used versarmark ink and clear eP), then sponged my colors over top.   Once dry, I removed the embossing powder by ironing over the top of the image (use a piece of a paper bag or some newsprint, it absorbs the embossing powder as it melts).

Inks:  Tim Holtz Distressed Inks: Marigold, Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Lipstick and Barn Door, with True Black (PTI)

 

In the evening ....

This is the "Daffodil and Anise" stamp set from  Mark's Finest Papers.    I showed off the Mother's Day sentiment and Hummingbird from that set here  just the other day.

I used one of my fav techniques - faux bleach.  Basically you emboss with clear embossing powder and then ink your colors over top - in classic emboss resist technique.  Then ..... get your iron out and use brown paper bags (or newsprint) over your image and heat it to remove your embossing powder.

I then stamped the image on the background of the cardstock, using the same color ink as my cardstock and added my sentiment.

getting sketchy with Mother's Day and Speedy the Cat!

On Sunday I mentioned that earlier this week I came home from work and jumped on Facebook to check out what my friends were up to.  A post came up with a contest question from Faith Hofrichter asking who the mascot is for  Mark's Finest Papers?  I knew that! {picture me jumping up and down!} its Speedy the Cat!    I received my package Saturday (super quick shipping) and was amazed at her generosity!  She sent me two stamp sets!  I received "Speedy the Cat's Friends" full of cat images and "Daffodil and Anise" which has a Mother's Day sentiment!  I was looking for exactly that week ... I don't have any Mother's Day stamps and then they magically appeared in my mailbox!  Thank you, Faith!

The sentiment and the hummingbird are from this set.  The green floral paper is from Graphic 45 (its the reverse of the red/blue floral) and are is cut using my new Tim Holtz alterations - "on the edge die" in scrollwork.    I used the sketch from Friends Having Fun sketch challenge last week.

I have ideas for a few cards and will be back soon to post them!  I am so excited that I received the set for Mother's Day ... I know exactly what I am going to use and I plan on using the cat stamps with some of my cat photos for card that will benefit our local no-kill animal shelter.

Here's my little monkey ... Wednesday, a kitty adopted from the local shelter (I also adopted her Momma I had a photo of her posted the other day as "cat-bit").
