TTIC45 - Name your challenge!

Its "Name Your Challenge" week here at TTIC - Tonya, our fearless leader, owner of TT and Stamp Happens is hard at work on her release of several new, original stamp designs!

So my challenge project this week I decided to make a one layer card ..... although since I messed up the sentiment (it was crooked, it morphed into a two layer card) using the faux bleach technique:

 

I also decided to make some earrings that I think Alice would have whipped up ... these are RED bottlecaps with some amber accents!  And yes, they're bottle caps - aren't they fun????

As I noticed yesterday on Margie's blog ..... Halloween is right around the corner.  For a while now, Halloween decorations have been in the craft stores but I hadn't started any projects, till now.  

Here are some earrings, featuring the new UV resin from Judikins and some earring findings I purchased at CHA.  The paper is scraps (don't ya love using your scraps!) and stamped with some chocks from Stamps by Judith - the spider and the boo.   I can't wait to wear these!  

(note to my readers:  ignore the little piece of cat fur that seems to have statically attached itself to these!  I hadn't noticed that when I photographed them).

have I told you how much I love copper????

I made this bracelet and wore it to CHA .... I adore "jingle jangles" in my jewelry and holy cannoli I love it even more with COPPER!!!!

Here's a cleaning tip for copper, if you have copper jewelry that's tarnished - just place it in some ketchup.  The acid cleans it lickety split, with no nasty chemicals - pretty cool, huh?

 

 

TTIC43 the MUSIC of TWILIGHT

Our Challenge this week was  to "Choose a song. Explain why it should be theirs. Share lyrics that are particularly poignant, if you can. Create a project scrapbook layout around this song. "

{This week's challenge was selected by the incredibly fun and creative Beth of Stampin' Insanity}

I was sooooo busy focusing on what song to choose and I had a hard time choosing just one song! I figured though, that most of the group would go more mainstream, so I went with Country!  I love  Lady Antebellum's "I Run to You".  Here are the lyrics:

CHA - Claudine Hellmuth make n' take project

Here's the make and take that the amazingly creative Claudine Hellmuth was demonstrating at the Ranger booth during CHA! One of the most wonderful things about going to these shows is gettting hands on with products AND meeting the artists themselves who design these products.   

We used the canvas sticky back sheets (these were my first time with these and they were very cool!), next we painted with the glossy acrylic paint from the CH Studio line, used a heat gun to dry it quick but you could let it air dry.  Next, stamp wtih Ranger Watermark pad and then wash a top coat of paint ( we used white with lots of water, but black works or choose a cooordinating color for subtel effects!) over the top and the stamped image "magically" appears. 

These went into the Ranger frames with memory glass, the sticky back paper and acrylic paint were Claudine Hellmuth Studio/Ranger products.  <-----click to go check these products out or look for them at your local scrap/craft store!   The paint colors can be mixed to create many tertiary colors and the paint has a slight glossy finish to it - with super brilliant pigments (this was not your *average* acrylic paint!).

The Ranger Watermark pad and the canvas sticky back sheets are on my "must have" list! 

ETA:  the wonderfully talented Claudine just popped in to let me know I needed to modify my instructions and I have done so :-) make sure you don't use a heat gun to dry the stamped image.  The watermark stamped iimage will remain "wet" when you add the wash the next color layer over it.

Red hot and BLUE! {TTIC40}

This week's challenge comes to us from the one and only Jen of Deconstructing Jen!  Her challenge:

Blue. Edward loves Bella in blue.

"That color blue looks lovely with your skin," he said, watching me. I was surprised; I looked down, flushing, of course.

So this week the challenge is simple... create anything you want focusing on the color blue. Twilight related? Well that's up to you.

Here's my project:  a fiber necklace with glass pendant - these butterflies are electric blue!  

Don't you love that red fiber - and I worked some turqoiuse blue fibers in there to match the pendant.
