Another spring chickee!

Here's another springy chick from CHF (all the buying details see the post below)!

On a Fabriano Mediovalis Notecard, stamped with Palette Noir ink, and then watercolored with SU inkpads and an aquapainter.  Ribbon from Mike's.

 

March roars in ....

... well not quite roars! In fact, we transitioned into March with no real noticeable difference in the weather from February, its just mild and sunny here.   I know many of you have snow!  AGAIN!   Here's to sunnier days ahead!

This sweet chick with a chocolate delight is part of the new stamps from Asela available at Cornish Heritage Farms ... you can check out the line here ... and Asela's blog here for more of her great stamps and cards.  Those of you that know me, know that I think CHF has OUTSTANDING customer service!  I'm a huge fan, they give personalized attention to each order!

This is simply stamped on a Fabriano Mediovalis notecard (I love these!) I watercolored the chick and grass, then used my markers to color the egg (simply because I had those close at hand!).  The ribbon is from Michael's.

more TK! Vintage Postcard

I wanted to try a simpler card ..... and this one was just that!  This is the Silent Night stamp from the Thomas Kinkade collection at Cornish Heritage Farms.

Its stamped in Sepia (Marvy) and I LOVE the way this turned out!  I used decorative edge scissors in deckle pattern on the edge to make it look like a vintage postcard.  It sits on some scrapbook paper (don't remember who from) in a chocolate and white pattern, on chocolate chip cardstock.  I had a tiny piece of tobacco colored velvet ribbon (stashed away in my ribbon collection) and I dipped into my hoarded stash of hardware for buckle and photo turn.

Wow!  I've been wanting some of the new Thomas Kinkade stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms since they've were released this summer!  There are great techniques on the Cornish Heritage Farms site and a talented design team.   CHF is a wonderful company to do business with and they have incredibly fast shipping.

This is my first creation with the stamps.  I decided to use navy blue and copper as the color combination for my card.  This is a 5.5 x 5.5 square card, the stamp itself is just slightly smaller than 4 x 5.  This project features "Silent Night" - a snow laden cottage with the signature light pouring out of each window.

The details:  I used a waterbrush and my SU inkpads (barely banana, summer sun and only orange) for the lights, I also wetbrushed a little bashful blue to highlight some of the snow.  The pine trees & bushes are accented in "diamonds" stickles -  the iridescent glitter reflects copper!  The roof of the house is done in crystal effects with micro beads!  A double layer of organdy ribbon accents the card along with a copper embossed sheet of paper from K & Co.   The stamped image is edged with my copper leaf Krylon pen.

The background is done in white embossing powder over glossy cardstock.  Then inks are sponged over top - I used several colors from Stampin' Up!'s bold bright collection.  I got to use my marvy giga punch for the circle!
