I've been looking for new lighting for my house ... both inside and outside.  I'd love a new dining room light (I'm just not crazy about the one that came with the house) and or maybe something "green" like solar lighting for my outdoor ....  hmmmmm LOTS of possibilities for lighting up your home.  They even have products listed that are eco friendly and/or energy star rated.

Heart full of Twilight love! New Moon blog hop

How fun is this??? A New Moon Blog Hop with all kinds of fans and stampin' rock stars joining us! 

Here's my project, a hand stitched vellum heart with Twilight/New Moon confetti words!  The stamped sentiment is from the all new Unity Kit of the Month - Simply Magical (Nov. 09).   Want details on how I made the heart?  It was simple!   I cut two squares that are approximately 4 inches by 4 inches of vellum.  I stapled them together in the corner - this is optional, it just helps hold the two pieces together while you work with it!  I then drew a heart in pencil, and I used my paper piercer to pierce the stitched pattern.  I then took some red cotton crewel/needlework thread (from DMC), and threading a needle - stitched it.  When it was about 3/4th stitched, I added my confetti words (I used my printer to just printed those, then cut them out with my scissors).   After stitching it closed (with the confetti words inside) I took my scissors and trimmed the image.  I then used my black pigment pen to draw a little faux stitched border on the cardstock base, a button and stamped sentiment complete it

I LOVE to cook, and making a home cooked meal or treat is one of my favorite ways to be NICE.  I cook most often without a recipe, but from time to time there are a few recipe sites (like p-dub the pioneerwoman) that I enjoy.  And of course, scrapping my recipes is one of the few scrap projects I actually do on a regular basis, I've found digi scrapping recipes is just as fun!   I was thinking of printing this one and framing it for the kitchen.

I have no idea what the origin of this is, but I love this cake recipe!  ENJOY and think about it making one for your neighbor this holiday weekend :-)

Happiness Cake

• 1 c Good thoughts
• 1 c Kind deeds
• 2 c Well-beaten faults
• 1 c Consideration for others
• 2 c Sacrifice
• 3 c Forgiveness

Mix thoroughly. Add tears of joy, sorrow, and sympathy. Flavor with love and kindly service. Fold in 4 cups of prayers and faith. Blend well. Fold into daily life. Bake well with the warmth of human kindness and serve with a smile any time.

Welcome to my week's installment of Unity HHH ... this week I have two challenge cards and a scrappy little project featuring the KOTM.

 

And this one featuring a matching envelope:

 

I just sponged the ground in several shades of green.  The snail is stamped on scrapbook paper (Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste) and then cut out, the clouds are done my simply sponging white ink on.  The inks I've used - I *really* recommend - Dark Chocolate and Fresh Snow (both from Papertrey ink - Palette inks in their perfect match color system).  The snail has a sentiment, but I simply masked it and didn't ink that part, then hand wrote it on the side. It may not be perceptible from the pic, but I used crystal effects (diamond glaze) trailing behind the snail!  thanks Staci {misermom} for that idea!

If I forgot to mention this, I'm celebrating TWO years of blogging!  (two year blog-o-versary) and I've got a number of little giveaways planned.  All you have to do is leave me a comment and you'll be registered to win (one comment per person, please).  For this project I used "True Black" ink from PTI and Palette inks.  Palette Ink in Noir has long been my favorite black to use, but PTI recently worked with Palette and created a newer, improved black ink.  Its available only through PTI.    *This black is sooooo vivid, its amazing!*

Today's giveaway is this scrappy little project.  Its made with Fleuriste paper from Cosmo Cricket - in totally yummy greys, verdigris patina (blue green think aged copper) and rosey tones.  I've stamped little sentiments from various Unity Kits including:

Planting seeds of Spring and a little blog candy!

February's Challenge:  Easter and other spring celebrations will be here before you know it!  And besides, there's nothing better to beat the winter doldrums than to turn our minds towards those first spring flowers bursting through the ground and the birds returning with their sweet songs.  Your challenge this month is to put a little "spring" into your step, by incorporating the flowers, familiar sights and colors of spring into a project.  Think birds nests containing newly laid eggs, flowers in pretty pastels, new green leaves, baby chicks and anything else that speaks to your creative soul! We look forward to seeing all of your  interpretations of this fun challenge!

I found inspiration in Lauren Meader's (MyTime) seed pocket <----- click to go to the scorpal site to read the easy instructions.  Lauren is pure genius with 3d projects!

I followed the pattern for the pocket, then to accent - I punched a variety of circles in different sizes/colors from PTI cardstock (melon berry, perfect plum, lemon tart, aqua mist, dark chocolate, berry sorbet) and distressed each one by crumpling and then stacking in different color combos. Each one is accented with one of the new PTI buttons. 

Inside is a package of wildflower seeds suitable for a variety of climates/temps.  Its tied with a scrap of Melon Berry twill ribbon, the sentiment "Every day is a gift" is from the PTI set "Out on A Limb".  It would be a perfect card for anyone in need of  little spring time cheer.

I recently ordered Sentiments O' Simple from Unity - and in there was this *most perfect* sentiment "Love has no boundaries" ..... such a perfect sentiment a Twilight inspired card!

This features Bella's truck - the red rusty Chevy.  The background is the Floral stamp from SU.  The gorgeous rich velvety red cardstock is Pure Poppy from PTI.  I watercolored Bella's truck with Riding Hood Red, Ruby Red and some Really Rust for character.

Have you heard the movie soundtrack?  I usually don't buy soundtracks ... liking only one or two songs - but this one is different!  So many great songs, Perry Ferrell, Mutemath, Linkin Park, Muse .....
