Need a fun project for the kids? And something to keep cool during these hot summer days? How about make your own pool toys! I spotted this idea for water bombs while blurfing (blog surfing) <---- you can click to see the original blog post and decided to attempt my own version.
I found sponges at the dollar store, so if you have the fishing line (or other poly type string) you can make these quickly and inexpensively! I had some fishing line on hand - but you could use yarn (if its polyester or nylon it will last longer).
Its a simple concept - cut each sponge into four sections the long way. I cut mine in half, and then each half in half again - so you have four pieces of each sponge.
Next stack them four along the bottom, four pieces along the top
Tie them together in the middle using a piece of fishing line or whatever you are using, cinch it tightly in the middle with a good knot.
Enjoy!
