Since we just finished up our 3rd Anniversary Festivities, we thought we would do something extra special for this month's Blog Hop! Design Team Appreciation Day! Your challenge is to go through the Design Team gallery or any of the Design Team Members' blogs and find a project that is especially inspirational to you! Then recreate the project with your own spin, making it unique! Be sure to share a link and photo of the original project that inspired you! And you can also use this opportunity to thank the team for all their contributions this past year! I know they inspire ME daily and I never seem to thank them enough! We look forward to seeing your projects!
I wanted to case Dawn McVey of My Favorite Things, who is an inspiration to me every time she posts a project! I love her bright colors and visually stunning layouts! Thisn is her card: Zesty Monday showcasing the new Violets stamp set. I love the distressed bottom edge!
I recreated it using "Friends Til the End" stamp set and I switched the colors to dark chocolate, with Pure Poppy and just a taste of Aqua Mist. I fave the ribbon a bit of flair by tying the ends at the card edge rather than a traditional bow. This is an easy ribbon treatment and the edges can be tucked back into the card for mailing. And its a little less bulky than a bow (once its in the envelope). I think she used the great new die "Fillable Frames #1" for the Kraft cardstock piece, these ran out while I was placing my order, so I just made a rectangle and my ticket corner punch to replicate the look.
