I have been wanting to play along with the Sookie Challenges on Twilight Tuesday and finally had the right opportunity! This month's challenge was all about Sookie and the challenge is to create a project that embodies the uniqueness that is Sookie. Embrace her character, and show some Sookie-love!
When I got my June KOTM from Unity - I just new this stamp was perfect for the challenge, it just sounds so much like Sookie's grandmother, doesn't it? The quote says "we do not remember the days, we remember the moments". And then I watched the Season 2 premiere for HBO and it was poignantly focuses on Gran when Sookie has to clean out her {now deceased} grandmother's room. I thought the sentiment would be perfect for this paper (its Tres Belle from Laundry Line, its tres bien!} and I've placed some white lace on it reminscent of the little hankies and doilies in her Gran's room. We know that Sookie's Gran played a huge role in her life, especially as parent after her parents were mysteriously killed. So this card just is a happy little reminder of her Gran.
I thought the sentiment was wonderful, and it reminded me of some of the things my Grandma would say :-) like "the years skip along easily, its the days that are tough". As a child, I couldn't fathom what that meant - but in adulthood, I think it became more apparent. And here's one that always brings a smile to my face when I think of it "goodness, gracious me" my gran would say!
