More Palette O'Prints

I was looking for ways to use up some of my scrap Palettte paper from some other projects .. and put this together!

The background is certainly cerely cardstock, with Well-Worn Words Background stamp.  The strip at the bottom was one of my palette scraps and the flower is made from the palette paper also!  Stamp the "doodle this" flower on one side of the paper, then flip the paper over and stamp a second flower on the other side, cut them out and layer together with a brad!  (All supplies Stampin' Up!)

Pergamano, Part II

Okay!  I finally figured out what my card "needed"  - I really needed to use my white Signo gel pen (absolutely the BEST one on the market!) with those green flourishes!  So much bettter ... now if I had only stamped my sentiment in something besides black - I think it would be nearly perfect!

Pergamano Technique

This was featured this week on Splitcoast stamping, the old world art of parchment craft, so I had to try it for myself!

The basics are:  you stamp in white craft ink (or hybrid or solvent) on your vellum. Use the heat tool to dry it quickly if you used craft.  Flip your vellum upside down, and with a mousepad below it (or a couple of sheet of dark cardstock) use the tip of your stylus to dry emboss all along the white edges.  Next, take your markers and color the backside!  You can blend lighter and darker colors for interesting color highlights and lowlights.  You can also use a Signo white gel pen and sketch a line border or dots or zig zag frame around your stamped art.  Cut out and adhere! I used dimensionals to "pop" them off the page.

The bottom is done with a Fiskars edge punch that also embosses!  I just bought it today and it was *really* hard to use with cardstock!  I'm going to have to practice a few more times or return it!

The stamp sets are Delight in Life and Sincere Salutation, and Blush Blossom cardstock, all from Stampin' Up!

Red, White and Blue!

This card features Stampin' Up!'s Palette of Prints paper in the background in rose red.  The narrow strip of ballet blue is embossed with my cuttlebug.  The flower has some glitter in the middle and a rhinestone on the sentiment!  The focal stamp is Ruffled Bloom from Stampendous.  (If you click on the picture, you'll get a larger view).

This is Florida!

This is an orchid that is in bloom - its a white phalaenopsis!   I keep this one under my robellini palm, and it seems to like it there, this is the second time this year that it's bloomed!

UHU and My Favorite Things!

And, my new Stamp Set called HOT STUFF came from My Favorite Things, I have a monthly subscription to "card class in a box" through Paper Pretties.  You can click on the links and go directly to their site!

I like the UHU glue roller, its slightly larger in size than other double sided tape rollers and it was actually comfortable to hold onto and I thought the larger size made it easier to use.  It rolled onto cardstock smoothly, sometimes my other brand glue runner doesn't lay down a nice even line, this one did - every time!

I've been keeping my eyes open in the local stores for refills, but so far, I think refills are only available online.  I'm hoping if this product is successful, refills will be available locally!

I made two cards this morning from the set.  What do I love about MFT things?  Besides the contemporary, whimsical designs - I love how well the sentiments stamp!  I get a nice clean image each and every time with the sentiments!  Not to disparage other stamp manufacturer's ... but sometimes clear stamps don't seem to stamp that crisply or cleanly!  These clear stamps are "clearly different".

Saturday Stamping!

Its a holiday weekend :-) in FLA USA!   

I've been wanting to try something that Lauren showcased on her blog that utilizes a sentiment as the showcase image on your card.  I didn't have a large sentiment stamp (most of mine are one liners), but I had recently seen a great quote on something.  So, printed it off on cardstock and used that!

I also borrowed a "birdie" stamp from a friend - I really need one of these!  And stamped the birdie on scrapbook paper (Basic Grey). I used my markers and gently colored around key words.  The sentiment says "A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing the words back to you when you've forgotten the words".

Quick card!

I just found out that I needed a sympathy card for a dear friend who's mom passed away.  I had this vellum paper from K & Co sitting in a box ... and Ithought it made a very pretty card, soft and delicate.
