A micro challenge in black and white.  My card features black background, using "Print Pattern" in Craft ink Whisper White.  Next up, the vellum is stamped in Black Stazon with stamps from "Doodle This", "Spunky" alphabet and "So Very" sets, black brads secure the vellum to the cardstock in each corner.  This card features, stamps, paper, inks and embellishments from Stampin' Up!

THE ESSENTIAL GLUE PAD from Tsukineko

I recently purchased the new glue pad product from Tsukineko and have just been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it!

I've been watching Memoirs of a Geisha, so I was in an oriental state of mind but you get the picture.

So I took out my glue pad, and like the stazon products, the pad is dry and the first thing you have to do is open the refill bottle and ink it up! I used half the pad ... the back of the product says that 1 tsp. of the liquid will do more than 100 stamped images!

Just like an ink pad ... just tap the stamp several times and then press firmly on your cardstock or paper.  Then clean your stamp with cleaner, Tsukineko recommends using the Stazon cleaner, which I don't have, so I cleaned mine with the Stampin' Up! cleaner and it seemed to work fine.

I did the first sample with red glitter! I had a little technical difficulty wtih the glitter (not with the glue pad) and ended up with glitter ALL OVER the place!  The glitter did go right on, shake off - into my powder pal and back into the container.  This card features Stampin Up's Kanji set and NEW stamp I bought last night from Inkadinkado!  I loved the quirky "choose your fortune" phrases on it!

For the next sample I tried Pearl Ex powder and was very happy with the results.  Just use a soft brush to brush to brush it on, let it sit for a few minutes, then use the brush to brush off the extra powder.  I matched Kanji up with Oriental Paintings and a little gold ribbon.

I'm starting to receive cards!  Wendi in Chicago was the first to get them to me, so I've got something fun tucked away for her!  And ... since I received more than 20 cards to date, I'll be adding to the BLOG CANDY giveaway, stay tuned!

All cards must be received by Friday, May 4th!  The cards will be given to the Splitcoast Card bank for distribution.  I'll draw on Sunday, May 6th.  Everytime I reach an increment of 20 (i.e. 20, 40, 60, etc) I'll ADD MORE GOODIES to the giveway!  I'll also have a special incentive for the FIRST person to send me their card(s)

Colors?  Any color combination is fine, VT's colors are Burgundy and an orange similiar to SU's Pumpkin Pie.

I also made a 6 x 6 square card - the cover is embossed with the cuttlebug embossing folders!  The stamped images are "Ruffled Bloom" from Stampendous stamped onto Stella Ruby paper from Basic Grey, the sentiment stamp is $1 stamps from Michael's, punched with my Marvy mega circle scallop punch!

Out of Town and Out of the Loop!

I've been out of town!  And feeling very out of the loop! I've been sooo busy catching up on OPB (that's other people's blogs!) that I haven't posted to mine!

I received some goodies that I ordered from Electic Paperie!  My first order with them!  I can't wait to play with the stamps and paper I ordered from them!

I'm also anxiously awaiting May 1st!  Why?  Because that's when my first "card class in a box" will be shipped!  I signed up for the box that features never before released stamps from My Favorite Things - each and every month - how cool is that!  They also have box memberships for Bellas and Rubber Romance Divas!

And talking about loops ...... here's a card I made that features circle images and one of the new doodle stamps sets from Stampin' Up! Doodle This!  I got to use my watercolor crayons (SU) that get pretty neglected!  I don't use the watercolor crayons, but I think they are great with this stamp set - and I'll probably use them more often. I also used glitter - in the photo it looks dimensional - but it really was flat.  Things that make you say hmmmm!

More reasons to be tickled pink!

Cindy created for me a watermark for my project pics!  I had to immediately try it out so here's a card I made this weekend while stamping with my friends - Helene and Judy!
